The basic rules of baccarat in simple terms
In baccarat, the dealer gives two cards each to the Player and the Banker. The side whose total card value is closest to 9 wins.
- Ace cards are worth 1
- Cards from 2 to 9 are worth their face value
- 10, J, Q and K cards are worth 0
- If the total is a two-digit number, only the right-hand digit is counted
- A total of 8 or 9 is a "Natural" — no third card is drawn
A winning Player bet pays 1:1, a winning Banker bet pays 1:1 (minus 5% commission), and a winning Tie bet pays 8:1.
